TriMed Technologies’ EHR Solution Receives 2014 Edition ONC HIT Certification from ICSA Labs

Medical Software Company Achieves Crucial Industry Certification

High Point, NC – March 25, 2014 — TriMed Technologies, a leading provider of physician based healthcare information solutions, announced that its EHR (Electronic Health Record) version 7.9, has received 2014 Edition Complete Ambulatory EHR Certification, which designates that the software is capable of supporting healthcare providers with Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). TriMed Technologies’ EHR version 7.9 was certified by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The TriMed EHR is a part of the larger TriMed suite of medical software solutions including the TriMed PM (Practice Management), Patient Portal, Document Manager, and Amplify – A Mobile EHR.

“Over the last two years, we have seen many of our practices successfully use TriMed EHR to attest for Meaningful Use,” said Jann Martin, President, TriMed Technologies. “We understand that using certified software is only a part of successfully practicing medicine in an increasingly digital world. At TriMed Technologies, all of our product development, implementation and ongoing support is done with the intention of increasing the quality of patient care and helping ensure that practices are profitable.”

By achieving compliance for 2014 Edition certification, TriMed continues to demonstrate a commitment to providing a Complete EHR solution for practices seeking to maintain high levels of productivity while utilizing a certified ambulatory EHR.

Attesting for Meaningful Use has two major components. Providers must select an EHR that has been certified by an accredited ONC-Authorized Certification Body. These third-party agencies confirm that a vendor’s EHR meets all the necessary requirements to be considered a Complete Ambulatory EHR system for EHR Certified Technology. Once a certified EHR has been selected, providers must demonstrate they are using a certified EHR in a way that positively impacts patient care. This certification satisfies this first major component.

*Additional software relied upon to comply with one or more of the certification criteria included TriMed’s Patient Portal, DataMotion, MedlinePlus, and MDToolbox.
